Cool little horror game where you are chased by a man that is covered in paint, it was fun but a little frustrating when the information you are given isn't enough to survive. My advice is to make the footsteps a lot louder when he is closer, as to tell the player that it is not safe to move and they should hide. That little volume increase would change the game on the spot, making it rely less on luck when you would face him and more on good player decisions. Other than that it's not bad at all. Thank you for making this! 1st game.

Thanks for playing this and dedicating your time for the great review. I will note the advice and fix some things up for sure. Cheers!

Hey Niven!

First off, great atmosphere, and I love the intro where it just throws you into a power outage. I jumped out of my skin. What I can only describe as fear-induced anxiety after that sent me on a spiralling path of "when will he get me!"

It's a simple concept for sure but I think you have executed it well. It takes a lot to spook people these days but I think what you have done well in regards to this game is your atmosphere. There is very little sound used and this is an excellent choice. I could be wrong here but I swear I hear footsteps walking around? If I am right in saying that, great job! That was a nice touch as you don't hear or see that often.

Areas I would say you could improve are:
1) Events that the player needs to complete. I found the fuses and escaped within 5 minutes. There could be additional things like, find the door handle? Find the key code that opens the door if you want to do these things to bring more life to the game.

2) More areas? As I mentioned above I escaped within 5 minutes (and that's fine if you are going for a shorter game but this is feedback for further development).

3) Specific scare sequences. During my time with the game I didn't see PCM once. Not sure if it was because I got lucky but I played it 3 times and was hoping to get chased or spooked. I am unsure how it works in your game if he is a character actively walking around or if the win event is tied to a timer. But maybe having special sections like when you collect the fuses, something spooky could happen that makes the player jump. It could be something simple like your flashlight goes out and when you turn it on he is standing in front of you etc etc.

Other than that though I think it is a good foundation to build on and it did have me on edge so you have a lot going for it already. Build on from the atmosphere because that is perfect!

First of all, you really don't know how much your feedback means to me. I would never imagine having feedback from you and especially positive one, as, let's be real, you are a professional game developer and work on bigger projects, when I am just simply doing this as a hobby, but really, really thank you for this support.

Everything you said is noted, I am glad you enjoyed this small experience and I will definitely make sure to improve on atmosphere and mechanics. I loved that advice about flashlight, I might use that in the near future or update this some time.

Footsteps were intentional yes, it was actually the PCM walking around and have to say you were lucky to get out alive lol.

Once again, enormous thanks for kindest words I have ever received and I can't wait for your contribution to this mythos of a strange, colored man.

Cheers Aaron! You made my day.
