Thanks a bunch for playing the demo and showcasing it on your channel. I appreciate your ongoing support and wish you all the best Pawdeen! Edit: Hope to bring more spooks very soon.
Out of the park as always, even if it was just a demo. Very strong Mortuary Assistant vibes, which I certainly appreciate. If you decide to revisit this in the future and flesh it out, I'll certainly be here for it.
Huge thanks for playing and checking out the demo! Yes, it was nothing big, but I decided to put it out as the script and some mechanics were already finished, so why not. Best to you as always mate!
Thanks again and again for playing and supporting my game! It means a lot to me. This was a demo, so I didn't put too much thought into it at first, but there were definitely some secrets to hide. Wish all the best to you friend!
Easy to play, pretty straight forward and easy to figure out
Infestation (Bugs):
No bugs that I noticed, maybe in the corpse on the table
Corpse Integrity (Story):
Took a turn I was not expecting, starts off like a Mortuary Assistant style game and then "click" things shift a different vibe, liked it, like to see where the story goes with Amira
Something Off About It? (Ambience):
Hits that Mortuary Assistant feel where you are waiting for ghosts, dead body walking around, it is a demo so it is limited on events but the taste was there and had me a little on edge
How Long To Dismember (Playtime):
Probably around 5-10 minutes, I tend to mess around and take longer
Value Of Meat (Price):
It's free! Free is always in the budget! But is a demo!
Post Mortem Thoughts:
Always a fan of Niven's gamecraft, no two games are the same, each with their own story and taste, this one I enjoyed, its a demo so there wasnt a bunch going on built the set up for the it there and I liked it. I don't want to throw spoilers, the twist by the end of the demo interested me a lot, love to see some more bodies at first, maybe some small weird events until we hit that twist or play with the players perception until the twist cannot be hidden anymore, overall, enjoyed and love to see it progressed and added to. Great demo and a interesting branch off of this style of game.
What a thorough review and masterfully crafted comment - I got nothing but big thanks and love you comments, that's it man! Keep that amazing channel and yourself awesome! Cheers 💪🏻🍻
This is brilliant! Really fun, solid little demo. Working in a mortuary only for weird things to happen is a solid enough premise on it's own, but that fourth-wall break at end just adds a unique layer of discomfort to the whole experience and I very much want to see that explored. If this does become a full game I'd like to see a slower start to build a bit more tension, maybe let us prepare one or even two bodies before the weird stuff starts happening, but overall I am thoroughly invested in this concept.
Big thanks for playing my game and giving such thoughtful feedback, I really appreciate that. Hopefully one day I can tackle this project again and show some unique design as well as consider the suggestions, for sure. Best to you!
What’s up guys! today’s indie horror gameplay is the demo to Mortise by @NivenHedinger. You play as Amira, who has been assigned for her fist, solo preparation of the body. What begins as a routine cleaning turns into a meta themed ride, where the game itself might break around you. Watch closely and pay attention. Bunch of thanks for checking out the demo! Thanks a lot for supporting the project and I wish the same, maybe one day making a full length game from this. Best to you!
This was a super fun horror game my dude! I really enjoyed this one, I always found those mortician places super creepy, so much death has to bring some bad energy! I was not expecting that ending, good job on the forth wall breaking and the spooky feeling, really came outta nowhere and hit good! I enjoyed this completely and recommend! Here is my gameplay video, sub and help my channel grow everybody! :)
A thousand times thanks, thanks for checking out the demo, supporting my work, being so nice and generous and what a video! Glad that you liked the twist in the end there. All the best to you mate!
Forth and final in the line up. This one got that slow tension build, it goes a bit more meta then I'm used to seeing Niven go, but I'm intrigued to see how it turns out in full. Good work.
Huge thanks for checking out the demo! I'm glad you liked this and found it interesting. Wish you all the best, more subs to the channel and just everything great. Cheers!
Wow.. this reminded me a little bit of Mortary Assistant with the creepy old man as my boss and a cursed body to deal with. Ill be looking forward to the full game! Nice to see a first demo from you Niven! I enjoyed the creepiness, the mystery, and also where did the door go? :O
Thank you for the highest compliments and for checking out the demo. Comparing this to the Mortuary Assistant is truly generous. Glad that you liked it! Best to you my friend!
Thousand thanks for checking out the demo and being so generous with feedback man! It really means a lot. Best to you and your channel! I hope you come back for more next time. Cheers!
Your Itch.io page came with a warning about suspicious behavior. Fortunately, I know you for quite some time now, but it might scare away those people who don't have had the privilege of knowing you :o]
Anyway, thanks for making a new game. Of course I made a video on it, so without further ado @
A big thumbs up [as per usual :o] Well done and I'm looking forward to the next installment. For anyone reading this: Stop! And start playing Niven's game :o]
So many thanks for playing and supporting my content over the years, legit over the years! I appreciate your feedback and truth be told, your videos are really good and thanks again for checking out the demo. As far as the page's restrictions are, they have been lifted now and no more notifications will be shown, I hope at least. You can trust me always thou. Best to you and your channel!
This should definitely be made into a full game. There's eerie vibes from the main menu to the end screen. I like that the game gets cut off with the whole error thing as if someone's messing with your pc. It's short but it's definitely a banger. It's always a pleasure playing your games bro. Keep up the good work.
Thousand thanks for playing and supporting my work! Your feedback is super generous and maybe, if enough people like this, I might make it into a "bigger" project lol. Love your content and love your vibes man! Cheers!
Thanks many times for playing the demo! I'm glad you found the ending interesting, I didn't want it to have a "jump scare" or something like that. Best to you and your channel!
Hi. There have been over 4 gameplay videos. Unfortunately, 1 has the same issue you have, it isn't a freeze screen, there is supposed to be a text on it, I don't really know why it occurs, because the 3 videos didn't have it. If you have that screen just press RMB and it will bring you to the main screen. This is just a demo, which means the application isn't stable, so not really a bug or surprise.
Again, because it's a demo, I can't do much with it, sadly.
Also, I did see your comment regarding the quarantine of this game, which I initially posted in the game's description, for some reason your comment was removed, but not really surprised, since itch.io website has been treating me and many others poorly the past 2 years. Anyways, the game is 100% safe, like I said on the game's page.
Included this in my 3 random horror game video! For being a short little demo this was not too shabby at all! Seems really good so far. Even though it might be a stretch I do hope to see what the full game has in store! Made a video on it.
Thousand thanks for playing, supporting and showcasing the demo. Sadly, it won't go far, but at least I got something still going, right? Anyways, wish you the best friend! You always motivate me to do better. Cheers!
Not bad, but also doesn't leave much of an impression because of it's fast pace. Really liked the system elements though and I'm sure if you decide to make a full game it's gonna be a banger like always.
Many thanks for playing and giving a very generous feedback. I wouldn't even call this an executable application, but I was curious about how people would react to it. Thanks for rating the game as well mate. Cheers!
(if you're reading this they have prevented me from posting comments for over two weeks, sorry I played this game and its fun i just can't post anything new)

Good demo, really enjoyed it 👍. Hoping to see the full release and how the story will go further :).
My review is included in the video.

No problem! I spread these as much as possible!
Thanks for playing!!! Glad that you liked this. Cheers!
Bro was pranking me...
Thanks for playing!!! Glad that you liked this. Cheers!
Today! We found the corpse of "Mortis"
Flesh (Visuals):
I enjoyed the look, has a good start for its meat
Dismemberment (Difficulty):
Easy to play, pretty straight forward and easy to figure out
Infestation (Bugs):
No bugs that I noticed, maybe in the corpse on the table

Thanks many times for playing the demo! I'm glad you found the ending interesting, I didn't want it to have a "jump scare" or something like that. Best to you and your channel!
I think I caught a bug, after I press "play" the game freeze on this screen:
Hi.

Thank you for your answer! I'll try it to press RMB
So sad that Itch.io treats developers like you in this way, I know that your games are safe! I played them like for years...and nothing ever happened.
IT WORKS, thank you again man
I just downloaded and tried it - it works.

Thanks a lot for playing and being so kind with words. I really appreciate that. Best to you!
Great work, Niven! I especially liked the error messages at the end, lol!
Huge thanks for playing my friend! Glad you enjoyed it.
